Colour is not decoration. In India, white generally guides same-direction traffic and stop lines; yellow tightens overtaking and boxes junctions. Get the colour wrong and you have trained thousands of drivers into a hazard.
White
Lane lines, edge lines, zebras, stop lines and most arrows. Broken white may be crossed with care; solid white is a boundary.
Yellow
Centre-line restrictions, kerb no-parking, box junctions. Double yellow is a stronger message than a faint single stroke.
Specials
